Tips so that you're opponents won't read you easily.

Postby DMTheNuts » Mon Jan 19, 2009 11:45 am

Here are my tips so that you're opponents won't read you easily while playing poker.

1. Don't Make Tells. Never ever talk to your opponent if he/she asks you something if you hit something or anything to say to you because you're making a tendency giving an information to your opponent and you're opponent might fold his cards and making sure that you're opponent doesn't have the best hand.

2. Display like a doll. Don't show any sign of body language, even if you know that you don't have the best hand because this might possibly read you that you have a weak hand. On the other side, This will really make your opponents have a hard time reading you because he/she doesn't know if you have the best hand or not.

3. Change your betting movements if you have to. It's just like shifting your gears of your vehicle and changing it's speed. This will have your opponent think if you hold either pockets, overcards, suited connectors or even unfathomable hands or worst cards. Make your sure that you need to be creative with your next move before making a decision.

If you want to add more tips, you can post it here.

Thanks!

assuming u 1) dun work for oakley 2) dun own oakleys 3) dun like to wear them

pick an object at the table to stare at....e.g. remaining pile of cards

stare at it and block all other actions + speech of opponents + other noise

observe ur opponent all u want but once u are done.....do the above and avoid eye contact with ur opponent...

apply when waiting for opponents to make decisions.

I think people are often over confident in their ability to read tells. When they get it right, they say put it down to their poker skills, get it wrong and it's just dumb luck. In my experience, people get it around 50%.

My strategy is to throw in all sorts of other things for them to read and let them wear their heads out with all the analysis.

But even in this you can mix it up a little. I hold their gaze - if I have to blink I make it a long slow blink - lasts around a second. Or - stare out into space for a while - no matter what you're holding. Another time I'll talk with the villain openly.

Works for me - well, half the time anyway.
