This year, APT would expands it wing to few others locations and the 2 possible venues would be in our home soil, RW Sentosa as well as our neighbour Malaysia RW Genting, both Casinos are under Resort World Co.
In 2009, buyin for APT Philippines was US$2,500+$200 APT Macau was HKD$32,000+$2,400
What would be the expected buyin amount for APT Malaysia & SIngapore?
The last Betfair APT Singapore in 2006 has a buy-in of USD5k and 400 players took part in the tourney.
For the IRs to attract the high rollers to SG if for the first time and to give this event the right publicity, the buy in cannot be less than usd5k.
Yes, it is expensive for a lot of us but i think usd5k has to be the minimum to go. The good thing to happen for us is there will be live satts and affordable side events in our backyard!

Yes, I agree that APT Malaysia and Singapore should be organized back to back so more World class / Australian players willing to fly in to this region for competition, more worth while the trip.
If that is the case, the buyin should be in the region of
APT Malaysia - US$3,000 ++ APT Singapore - US$5,000 ++
And if APPT is to come Singapore, the buyin would be exceeding this amount and is a matter of time to overtake Aussie's Millions to be the no. 1 Poker Tournament in Asia Pacific.
Wow..you are really optimistic. Have you seen the size of the Crown Poker room? Until a Singaporean wins the WSOP, I don't see Singapore ever being bigger than the Aussie Millions...
