Buy-in for APT Malaysia & Singapore

Postby Afternoon » Thu Apr 01, 2010 8:20 pm

This year, APT would expands it wing to few others locations and the 2 possible venues would be in our home soil, RW Sentosa as well as our neighbour Malaysia RW Genting, both Casinos are under Resort World Co.

In 2009, buyin for
APT Philippines was US$2,500+$200
APT Macau was HKD$32,000+$2,400

What would be the expected buyin amount for APT Malaysia & SIngapore?

anyone sellling 150 PS fund tonight? Bob?

No PS funds to sell, sorry.

Poker Tournaments cannot make money lah, is the players that continue gamble in the casinos that bring in revenue.

Anyway the tournament is consider as a publicity for the organising Casino, not so much on making money.

The last Betfair APT Singapore in 2006 has a buy-in of USD5k and 400 players took part in the tourney.

For the IRs to attract the high rollers to SG if for the first time and to give this event the right publicity, the buy in cannot be less than usd5k.

Yes, it is expensive for a lot of us but i think usd5k has to be the minimum to go.
The good thing to happen for us is there will be live satts and affordable side events in our backyard!

We should have a back to back APT Malaysia and APT Singapore!
APT Malaysia (genting) for USD2.5k will be nice!

Thats great news to all kakis eh! :D

If really APT comes to SG, the awareness of poker will surely hit the roof and it would be so much easier to participate in the sattellites!!!

Lets cross our balls and hope for the best!!! ;)

Got your point.

Hope they organize it at their function rooms, outside the compound of the casino so no levy required. If not then buy yearly pass liao..... lan lan.

Yes, I agree that APT Malaysia and Singapore should be organized back to back so more World class / Australian players willing to fly in to this region for competition, more worth while the trip.

If that is the case, the buyin should be in the region of

APT Malaysia - US$3,000 ++
APT Singapore - US$5,000 ++

And if APPT is to come Singapore, the buyin would be exceeding this amount and is a matter of time to overtake Aussie's Millions to be the no. 1 Poker Tournament in Asia Pacific.

Wow..you are really optimistic. Have you seen the size of the Crown Poker room? Until a Singaporean wins the WSOP, I don't see Singapore ever being bigger than the Aussie Millions...
