looks fine, definitely committing with TPTK there
Shoving preflop all-in is pretty sexy and ok too if you really want those blinds ^_^

no u played incorrectly.

u shld always fold to a raise when you raise with AK, hit top pair top kicker, and get raised all in on the monotone flop.

think about it.

at $4.00+$0.40 Hold'em No Limit these stakes with plenty of fishes, TPTK is a very good hand when short or mid stacked but definitely not to played like a monster, LOL

folding to a heavy repop with TPTK also, easily dominated by 2 pairs or set. TPTK is not worth committing all the chips at late stages. ur massive chip stacks could have used for other better situation. IMO u should have picked a better spot. If u have folded on the flop, u'd still have 54000 left way above the other 2 survivors. Could have waited for nuts hand to put ur chips in or wait for the other 2 to bust out.

2cents.

Like i hav mention in another topic, Im not good at late stages, I often do silly things at that moment, is so difficult to do the correct thing at the correct time........ sigh!

Maybe i giv more information and what i think at that moment.....

Eddepet79 is already in the same table with me before the final table.
He slow play and try to trap other players when he had a monster hand.
He raises big when he thinks you are going for a draw.
Thats how i see him, maybe im wrong.

4 players left....
At button to see my hole cards AKs is a happy thing!
UTG ajaxman1 with low chip folded.
My turn
all-in maybe i get the blinds maybe not
any raise or all-in is no diff to the SB with low chip, he is in a all-in or fold situation
so i decided maybe i can milk from the BB Eddepet79
I raise by 4x
SB folded
BB Eddepet79 call
hmm...he had something
Comes the flop [4c 2h Ks]
wow i had TPTK~~~
Eddepet79 BET!
WTF...the flop is so dry! What he hav? Set? 2 pairs? Straight draw? AK same as me (least to worry)?
2 pairs? To call with my 4x raise with K2, K4 or 24 suited slim chance
straight draw? A3 only a 5 slim chance, 35s/o to call my 4x raise also slim chance
Ace with any kicker is least to worry
maybe a set....hmm
if i call, he proberly will bet at the TURN again, i call again?
so i decide to raise him.....if he call, i will fold to his Bet if the TURN card does not improve my situation. if he goes all-in, i'll will call
i came to this decision with his style of playing
I raise
He goes all-in
I call
Comes the TURN, the River
BOOM, IM OUT!
Hope you understand what i write above!LOL

Im not mad at losing this hand because i dont win most of the time! LOL
I want to know where did i think or do something wrong?
Of all my busted out, 85% is my mistake and 15% is out drawn by opponent, i try to improve this situation....

THANKS to all who hav given or going to give me advise!

Whats your observation on his preflop calling range? Is it wide or is he tight.

You are only beaten by 2 pair hands that are rarely in their PF calling range if he is tight and competent enough. You are only beaten by 44 and 22, which is a very narrow part of his range. You are only playing a 4.40.

And even if he has these hands, its very rare for villians at such stakes to lead out into a raiser with such a strong range. (observe how players play, most of them tend to checkraise instead of leading out with such hands). Whereas its very common for villians to lead out with top pair marginal kicker or even weak underpairs from 88-QQ in an attempt to fold out the raiser.

You played it correctly, dont let short term results skew your play and hence future plays.

His preflop calling is not wide, he is tight...
I agree with what u says in the bottom paragraph, i do that most of the time also.
Im back to my usual habit at that moment, i lost my patient and rush again, i was thinking who ever win this pot will win this tournament which eventually he did.

Just for my thinker, PF at button i raise 4x the BB and if BB goes all-in, with the info i giv, do u call?

i dont mind going all in with AK PF in the mid stages of tourneys, as my plan is to play to win, and unless I have a dead read that im up aganist AA or KK...using stats tracking. There are critical/special situations where it is right to fold AK (given the prize money considerations in top 3), but thats altogether another matter.
