Call is fine. Villain had 4K effective which was around 26BB. He could be shoving JJ, AK, maybe even AQ or 1010 here. His range might be stronger given you repped v strong with such a small raise, unless it had been your habit to 3b like this regardless still a call vs JJ+, AK. Anyway I think 3b more, so maybe 1.2K is better as it actually looks weaker and he can shove lighter as a bluff or for perceived value/protection.

In the above situation, I would be calling as well. Even if you lose, you're still in the tournament with above 10BB.

However, if I had the smaller stack or comparable stack, I might just fold it and wait for better spots.

My reasoning is: if you're up against 2 overs and he hit 1 of them, you're pretty much out of the tournament (since you only have 2 outs).

You also need to worry about possible flush if he is holding suited A. There's also the possible runner-runner straight. Basically, if he improves, you're screwed. After all, you're trying to use 2 cards to win against 7 cards.
