Hi all,
Joined up just to get info on remote gambling bill. I am like majority, a PokerStars player. Problem with vpn is it carries risk of not being able to cash out unless you manage to secure actual documents proving your country of residence (I'm discounting the option of forgery obviously) . Especially so if cashing out big.

Bought my first 100sgd of bitcoin to try out seals with clubs. To my dismay the mobile app sucked and traffic is uber low. Heard of another site called infiniti poker and read on forum elsewhere they are unable to cash out.

Hope bitcoin poker sites do catch on before we face what our Malaysian bros did recently, sooner or later it'll happen to us I'm sure.

so if im able to change my country of residence, even im still in SG, I can still play?
I was thinking they will ban SG IP or you were assuming we will use VPN?

Can change your country of residence so long you have valid proof of address and valid ID. Even then I am not sure if VPN will work. =/

ok

after researching on VPN + pokerstars.

The main issues I found out is Pokerstars dont really allow VPN( but i heard china grinders use VPN)

One case is one Ang mo used VPN and grinded well to around 10k then Pokerstars caught him and freezes his account AND i HEARD in order to get the money back a lawsuit(?) is required because the player has officially breached Pokerstar's Term and condition.

So...... be safe fellow kakis

if u change your location to elsewhere, say thailand
and continue to play in sg using a VPN showing your own location as a thailand ip
one day you thai server disconnects and your ip is now shown as sg

PS unders its t&c can freeze your account and seize ALL YOUR FUNDS

this happened to many US players who tried to play using a VPN

think carefully about what u are trying to do

anyway lets just hope for good news
maybe in the end the local telcos only block the pokerstars website but not the ps client, LOL

also pokerstars recently banned 30+ countries to prepare for going into US market (mostly muslim regions banned), we were lucky that sg was not in the list, lets hope sg will continue to be lucky ^^

Issue here isnt accessing Pokerstars but more about deposit and withdrawal. Through whatever means possible, you have managed to depsoit funds into Pokerstars, would you risk not able to withdraw ?

this is not the first time Singapore Govt is coming out with new legistration, they would say consult, debate and may even form some sort committee to look into it. But, at the end of the day, the decision has already been made.

The thing about taking cheques from Stars is that the damn thing takes forever to arrive, banks take their own sweet time to process it since it doesn't come from a local bank and banks might even be prohibited from clearing these cheques under the financial safeguards section of the remote gambling act. It's really GG for online poker here in SG

the checks take 1 month to come and another 1 month to clear
but the checks will definitely clear, the check is not linked to pokerstars at all

however like I mentioned many times before, if you have a significant amount of money on pokerstars
the risk free way is surely to cash out first

Is online poker official ban already? I remember reading last year that online poker will be banned this year. Wondering whether still can play or not...
