Things I try to avoid
1) Smoking - well we all know that it trades health for enjoyment, as a poker player a healthy mind leads to better decision making abilities
2) Drinking - once in a while is fine but never along with poker as its a sure way to dump all my chips away
3) Junk Food - I do not take snacks and soft drinks, I stick to healthier drinks like tea, soya milk, fruit juices etc
4) Staying up late - I stick to a very routine sleeping schedule of 12 to 7am, it keeps my mind fresh and going every morning till the end of the day

Unfortunately most of the professional poker players that I've know and meet do all these things though
Being in this industry for a while, I can say almost 99% of them do all these things :x
Damn Felix you might wanna pick up these things if you wanna become a pro
Just joking. :D

Just a thought on food...

The only part of the body that runs on PURE carbo is the brain. In fact, it burns 1/10th of a calorie when not in use, 1.5 calorie when doing a crossword...
I wonder how much calorie per min when playing poker with 4,8,12 tables. In comparison walking takes 4 calories/min (and uses your whole body).

The fastest source is junk food (High Simple carb food like chips).
