A Hello from Bishan

Postby w00ty » Thu Feb 05, 2009 9:16 pm

Hello people. As the title of this posts states, yeah, i'm a bishan boy. I'm very very enthusiastic about learning more about Texas Hold'em (by playing more live games of course!)

I was pleasantly surprised when i came upon this site. Like, how did a country Singapore manage to set up a poker forum? Haha. Anyway, i am looking for like minded people to play, preferably around Bishan. I guess, since i'm still a noob, 25¢/50¢ would be my range. Of course any lower (eg. 1¢/2¢) is very very welcome haha because i just want to learn and get good at this game. Haha.

Well i recently bought a box of 200 chips from Shop'n'Save during CNY. $20 only, cos as an NSF now i can't really afford to buy those big $150 ones. Maybe next time!

Anyway some history about myself:
i used to play starcraft a lot on battle.net. that was when i was in primary school. but the drive to win people really kicked in then. I later moved on to Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, and i got pretty good in it, but of course i did not reach the top echelons of the Singaporean scene because of school and stuff. And by this i'm talking about the normal 1v1 or 2v2 games, mind you. NOT DOTA! Haha, and then later A levels came and i had to stop and study and stuff, and now i'm in NS learning this humble game called poker.

Okay. This is the end. Pretty long compared to many other "HELLO" posts right? :)

Hope to gain more poker knowledge from you guys! And preferably play a bit (and earn a bit!) during university haha

Welcome to the forum.
Hope you enjoy your stay here.
Btw, this is not a just Singapore poker forum. It's a poker forum for Asians.
You can see there are kakis from Malaysia & Philippines too.

Btw did u buy the 5 game set or just the Texas' holdem set?
The $14.90 set has the better chips (i would say 70% quality compared to casino).

I won't bother with the printing... it's the heavyness of the chips and the nice feel (at that price..)

haha so you bought them too huh! yeah im actually quite satisfied with that set. at least i can play with chips that are NOT mahjong chips. haha. my friends and i used to play poker with them right after playing a round of mahjong. it just felt... different. haha.

the bad thing is that the price immediately dropped to $14.90 two days after i bought them for $20. Grrr. But still good lah hehs
