In a multi way pot you should probably had bet out on the flop.
It multi way is more likely someone will call you flop bet and give you value and its really bad to give free cards.

But in this hand no matter how well you play, you will get stacked.

Hiya Push2Tilt,

I don't regard myself as an expert but I think that your decisions are sound. Perhaps you could have raised first instead of checking during the Flop because even if you now hold [4h] & [4d], you should also consider the possibility that your opponent/s could pair up with the [6s] or even the [Kd]. Even if that is not likely, you could reduce the number of players earlier on in the game and focus of reading the remaining player/s.

Then again, the chances of getting 3-of-a-kind for 4 is just as low as K so just for that moment, it was just the cards favors your opponent a little more.

The same thing happened to me too 2 days ago when I got myself a pretty good hand; [9d] [9h].
The Flop came up [9s] [5c] [2d], a complete mess but my remaining opponent went all in! What made him pull out a move like that? I considered the most remote possibility that even if he has 2 Aces, getting a 3rd Ace on the Turn or the River is relatively low and clearly, he's gambling. The odds were in my favor and I decided to call as well.
The Turn came up an [2c]. So far so good.
Then the River, a [Ac]. Bloody hell, the table was in an uproar!

So did I kick myself? Perhaps, since I didn't wear anything red that day.

looks ok, you had good odds on the flop so calling was cool. Raising for fold equity is also okay.
The turn raise a bit too soft considering the board is drawing to 2 possible flushes, your min raise gave them wonderful odds to chase you.
Raising up to $35 or shoving would look more appropriate.

Indeed you will? I'm not a superstitious person so I'm not sure how a cold shower could do the trick.

On this board, i just don't see what you are beating here when he gives you action. Maybe just an A4 type hand. Your line looks extremely strong and with any trip 4 low-mid kicker type hand, he is going to call your 3bet on the turn, unless he is that kind of bad non-thinking player, then there would be more AA, slowplayed 46o/s, other weird X4 kinds of hands, K6 or even top pair flush draw combi hands in his range that you beat.

While easier said than done, especially in the heat of the moment when the raises are flying around, sometimes when faced with unexpected heat especially on these kinds of dry and hard to hit boards, think and ask yourself, "What kind of a player am I facing? And what hands in his range are you really beating here?"
