Hi,

I just want to clarify some of the comments that you made
"Generally create prize pool of range 9K-18K"
The estimates are too optimistic. If you break the numbers down, we are talking about 150 to 450 re-buys and Add On that players will take on. Which is considered A LOT for just one hour of play. In addition, like you said, players are playing for non-cash prizes, will they want to go to the extent of paying that much? Will you?

In the most OPTIMISTIC circumstances, we are expecting to generate about 6-7K based on the poker tournament.
Sale of tickets: $45 * 100 = $4500
Re-buys and add-ons: $30 * 100 = $3000 (That is assuming an average of one re-buy or add-on per player)
Total = $7500

But like i said, this is the best case scenario that we have projected so far.

"Not worth 3.9K worth of items"
I don't disagree with you on this statement. Some of our prizes are sponsored by Cinch Hands and other participating companies. But it's part of our marketing efforts to attract as many players to this event. Try to think from the viewpoint of the committee.

"We earn a lot in this event after minus off set up fee and all"
This event costs at least $9K and the organizing committee took a loan from the school to organize this event. Currently, we have only collected about $4K+ from our fund-raising efforts. The school will not penalize us for having a deficit if it did happen. Also, if we do collect any profits, most of it will be given back to school for bursaries/scholarships. And btw, no one, including me, will earn a single cent organizing this event.

"its considered sort of turbo with 20min lvls and blind structure is LOL"
The speed of the blind levels imo are pretty ok. When i played at Long Jie, it was about the same too. And you have to pay at least $100. Blind structure has to be designed fast to because this is only a one-day event. We have only booked the space from 0800 to 2359 on Friday.

FYI, i adopted the blind structure from WSOP 2008 $1K NLHE R/A event. http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/tourn ... roupid=411

"WTH is this tournament doesnt end at certain time, prizes will still be paid. LOL"
Go and read the tournament information that i posted on my thread. Play will stop at 2230 and positions will be determined according to chip count.

PS: I am not a hater.

Do you think for a non-casino set up entity to organise a tournament event is that easy ???
Do you know how much hardship, effort and resources is need ???

If you can do the same set up, i pay you $50 buyin + $40 buyin. Our DM101 still cracking his head to organise one in Singapore since 2 years ago ..... is not that easy, my friend.

Please show some support for the organiser ! Even if they are able make a bit of money, so what.
If you only wanna play in a full pool buyin money tournament, you can wait till our IRs organise them or fly to Macau.
