Kakis@APPT Cebu

Nov 11
Today has been a great day for the Kakis, firstly we have uncle jack who is in Flight 1a of the main event moving on to day 2 of the event.... With 100+ participants playing today, only 50+ made it through to day 2. Uncle jack currently has a nice healthy stack of 46k+ chips making him slightly above the average stack...

A side event was also held today, the PHP20,000 NL Hold'em event. There were 36 entrants and 2 Kakis, made it to the Final Table... Norbert Koh and Ricky Foo (Yes him again). When it was down to the final 6, a deal was proposed as initially, only the top 5 would get paid. The deal was in such a way that every place fork out some of their prize money to give the 6th place PHP40,000.

After the deal was made, Ricky Foo looked down at pocket 77s in UTG and shoved All in because he was short stacked, only to be called by the Chip Leader in the SB with Pocket JJs. Sadly, the board failed to improve his hand and he was busted out in 6th place.

When it was down to 4, Norbert Koh shoved UTG with KJs and the chip leader in the small blind called with 89s. Of Course, a 9 had to drop on the turn to bust him out in 4th place.

From what I see, uncle jack was the only kaki to play in day 1a and he made it through, hopefully the kakis playing in day 1b can follow his lead and meet up with him in Day 2.

Not forgetting Norbert Koh and Ricky Foo who both cashed in the side event. Both of them will be playing day 1b of the Main Event. Lets hope they can continue playing well like they did for this side event...

Nov 12,

More good news to share.....

In day 1b, a lot of kakis made it through to day 2 after outlasting a record field of more than 205 players, twice more than day 1a.

Notable kakis -

Ivan Tan - 43000
Nathaniel - 55000
Bryan Huang - 16000+
Norbert - 23000
Noel - 23000

Following the action on Pokernews live reporting from 12pm as we battle it out in day 2!

I had the honor of putting the final nail on the APPT high roller champion with a snap call in BB with A-high preflop

Vladimir Geshkenbein Eliminated Late

It all went downhill in the last level for Vladimir Geshkenbein.

Coming into the final phase of the night Geshkenbein lost a monster pot after his flush draw failed to complete against an opponent's {A-?}{a-?}. Geshkenbein dropped another string of pots before going out holding {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} against {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Geshkenbein was out of the poker room quicker than most people noticed.

He was playing really loose and aggressive and his stack was roller coasting......

Wish us luck and thank you for all your support boys!

Cheers!

from cebu,

After a tiring play of more than 7 hours, Norbert Koh managed to take down the PHP 10,000 NL Hold'em Side Event and emerge as Champion.

Let us also wish Uncle Jack all the best and hope to see him at the Final Table...

Main Event:
Sad to say, Uncle Jack Busto in 17th place when he went All in with A10 and got called by AQ and the board failed to improve his hand.

6 Handed Side Event:
Norbert Koh was Final Table ITM again, he came in 6th place when he also went All in with A10 and got called by AK.
