A "Nothing" wins pairs?

Postby Koosh » Sun Dec 27, 2009 1:27 pm

Here's the situation:

Player A: [Ah] [8s]
Player B: [4h] [4d]

Flop: [Ks] [Kh] [6h] [5h] [5h]

Who wins?

Player A wins with

[Ks] [Kh] [5h] [5d] [Ah] kicker

Player B loses with

So it is true, just the best 5. Feels like shit to lose to someone who has a high when I have a pocket! Lol.

Opponent with the Ace cos best 5 would be the four of a kind and a single card. Which is in this case the Ace being the highest.

Hmm what if both had an Ace in their hands. Will you proceed to look at the other card (kicker?) or just strictly 5?

if both have an Ace with no K or 5 , it would be a split pot
