Home Games - Tourney Format

Postby BigBoh » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:24 pm

Guys & Gals,
Just wondering if anyone og you ever hosted or attended home games that are played tourney style?

I have hosted cash games all these times and usually 8 - 10 handed per seating with buy-in 200 BB. Would like to try Tourney Format.

Any ideas???

you can try tournament blinds softwares like http://texasholdem-sites.com/free-home- ... ind-timer/

can always google for home poker tournaments

http://www.homepokertourney.com/poker-t ... amples.htm

the blinds stucture u can follow any reasonable tournament format , 1500 starting chips , 10/20 blinds
but since i guess you all have denominations printed on the chips , then maybe can start with 1/2 , 150 chips (turbo format) or 1/2 300 chips deeper stack tourney or just normal 100big blinds

200 NLHE
15x$1, 13x$5, 6x$20

1-2
2-4
3-6
4-8
5-10

Break/Chip up
10-20
15-30
20-40
25-50
50-100

can consider freezing the blinds @ this point already. for 9 people sng ,

75-150
100-200
150-300
200-400
300-600

break /chip up
(for MTT already lol)
400-800
500-1000
600-1200
800-1600
1000-2000

probably you all want to have freezeout tournaments
When you are eliminated from the tournament when you lose all your chips. You cannot rebuy.

if its a 9 person sit and go , probably the pay out structure would be 50 % top , 30 % 2nd , 20 % 3rd.
11 - 20 person SNG , top 50 % , 2nd 25 % , 3rd 15 % , 4th 10 %
21 - 30 SNG , 1- 5th , 40 % , 25 % , 20 % , 10 % , 5 %
