I was told yesterday by a blackjackdealer that they gonna remove the pokerroom and that there's not gonna be poker at all. I asked some more officials but they couldn't confirm this.

In Marine Sands Casino I couldn't find any pokertable and nobody could tell me if there's gonna be poker.

Sad......either the table games are so profitiable that no biz sense to do poker room or these operators are too short term thinking.....have they ever heard of the perks of being a destination room?

And most poker players are also big time table games players......ironic.

Amazing. What kind of idiots are running RWS? They manage to do exactly everything wrong. Setting up a complete poker room in full display for everyone, just to throw it out without dealing a single hand? Obv it wasnt just rumours that RWS is such a mess that the expat guys that were suppose to run the poker room fled as soon as they could. But how hard is it to run a poker room? Its not exactly rocket science. Why not just bring in staff from Genting? I cant believe they are so stupid that they ditch the chance to attract a very different consumer group, ie people that want to play a skills game and not the brain dead baccarat shit. Cant Pokerkaki or Baller or anyone else that claim to represent Singapore poker players go up to RWS and demand an explaination from them? Lots of ppl seemed to be looking forward to the poker room opening. Before they suddenly removed their forum on Facebook it was like one new thread everyday asking when they gonna open.

Thats just how its not. Poker tables might not generate as much profit as a packed baccarat table fillet with cheenas blowing their life savings. But it brings in ppl that would never bothered to visit a casino with just meaningless -ev games. Thats why so many poker rooms are popping up in Macau. And with a so much bigger poker community here and the outspoken goal to attract foreign visitors (ie others than stupid mainlanders betting on just anything), its just a hole in the head to not offer poker at the Singapore IRs.

Yup the idea of introducing poker rooms into a casino is to attract more customers who otherwise would not go in for the normal table games. Im sure they'll play a few hands etc at these table games while waiting for friends or waiting for a suitable table. Moreover they can't even field enough dealers to operate at full capacity and yet they're removing the poker room to make space for other tables lol.. So ya..withdrawing a poker room just doesn't make sense, even if you talk about making more profits from normal table games.

'Con-sperm' no Poker Table in RWS....
No need to ask anymore.....
Nobody's capable to manage, deal or run the show...
Better try your luck at the Bacarrat, Tai Sai, Roulette or Pontoon tables guys & gals...

ehh wtf lah! RWS is retarded..wonder what suddenly changed their mind. i was also excited to check it out..could have been such a big hit and is wat SG needs more. more baccarat and roulette is the last thing the public wants! ..but of course they don't care what we want as long as it makes them more $$. Wonder if we can get a huge petition through pokerkaki, facebook, then try and somehow get help from a magazine like baller maybe we can persuade RWS of their stupidity!!

The area set aside for poker is now a ladies only gaming corner.

There just isn't a critical mess of players in Singapore that will sustain the poker room 24/7 playing at 5/10 stakes (that's the minimum I assume since locals have to pay $100 to get in). So to the casino, having gaming tables is much more profitable. No point having a poker room that is going to be crowded some of the time.

I think youre wrong. RWS def made a mistake when they managed to mess up the planned poker room. If a place like Macau can sustain five and counting poker rooms, then a much more westernised and poker-savvy Singapore could easily hold at least one.

And I must say, as a foreigner it amazes me how easily the arrogant RWS management got away with how they ditched poker. Why doesnt anyone of you that run this site, or that baller mag or one of the so called pros, go down to RWS and ask wtf they are doing?? So many ppl have bizniz interests in a free poker here, but noone bother doing anything.
