Site to build bankroll

Postby rfgs » Thu Apr 15, 2010 1:42 am

Hi guys, I'm new here and looking to deposit $50 into any poker site however I need some recommendation. Look through the poker deals section and saw the offer on Cake Poker. After which I went on and read some of the reviews stating Cake Poker got soft competition there. How true is that? Initially I was thinking to deposit into PS.

With a $50 bankroll, assuming that you start at the microstakes, PS got soft competition there and also good player traffic from my experience. Don't know about Cake Poker though.

Gd luck at the tables :D

For $50, i would suggest pokerstars since you can start playing from the lowest denomination of 0.01/0.02 (good way to start getting the hang of things).
Also they are currently running APPT Macau for asian regions at 7pm and 10pm SG time.

for STT and MTT I suggest playing at the higher stakes (at least $6.50) and above.
This is to avoid the "stupid" crowd of newbies who just can't fold/calling station etc.

Is it a good idea for me to play at higher stakes STT/MTT with my $50 bankroll? Or should I just grind the micro limits till I can proceed with that limit? Anyway, how many buy-ins would be optimum for STT/MTT?

according to some pros on the site... best ROI for STT (Sit & Gos) is about 10-25%
MTT has a even lower ROI Rate.

Playing tournies depends on your drawing luck so u need quite a substaintial amount to start off..
Also if your not used to the shoving/All-in pre-flop, it's not a good way to start.

To get a rough idea there's a 0.10 cent 180 man tourny on pokerstars that you can practice on, but franking... it's in the stupid zone where people just all-in for no reason.
