I can't decide if i made the right play.

I think you under represented your hand preflop / flop
there is a flush draw out there on the flop with a gutshot , you should have betted more preflop or flop normally.
he could have raised PF with KQ , hit 2nd pair and cbet , got lucky on the turn. that might have stacked you.
The river is a blank , so his range on the turn is probably the same as on the river (unless he has 55 )

Pre-flop: What villain's UTG range and image? Loose - 3bet pre; Very Tight - Flatting is fine.

Flop and Turn: Calling is ok as you get value from his bluffing/drawing range and raising only fold out bluffs and get value owned from better hands.

River: This is the main issue. Depending on his image, his range is essentially the nuts/complete air, in which your TPTK is a bluff catcher. Getting about 2:1 odds, I'll probably make a crying call if he has shown to be a complete manic.
