NL Texas Hold'm in Genting..

Postby 89suited » Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:16 pm

Hi all, thought i fill you in on this. They now hv two tables,7 players max each. You play agst the dealer, min M$10 ante. You may also put min M$10 on "Bonus" bet in case you get pocket pairs,AK,AQ or AJ suited or unsuited. You're paid min 3 times up to 30 times. With bets placed ($10 on Bonus + $10 on ante),the dealer deals a card each to the players till each gets two hold cards. At this stage, dealer is NOT dealt any cards yet.Having seen your hold cards, you decide whether to fold (meaning you lose M$20 straight away) or you continue by betting M$20 (2 times yr ante)on the "Flop" spot. Then, the dealer deals the three Flop cards. You next decide to either check or bet another $10 before a card is dealt to you at the Turn. Now you can either check or bet (put up another $10) before the River.Next, the River card is then dealt. Finally, dealer gets his two cards. Then, you win, lose or tie with the dealer. Good luck and have fun if you should play there!

NL in name only.Yah,it's casino-style,you might say.Note that you could put on a big enough ante bet before the Flop. :)

I'll be going to Genting later this evening.

Just wondering if this game is still available there. At least this game would be more fun than the other tables games available there.

I saw the 2 electronic holdem machines at the Latte Casino....the computer dealers look real sexy but no one was playing with them hahaha.

I gambled a little with my gf and we won 25 bucks out of casinos just for fun. I guess I'm +EV lifetime in genting.

Hmmm, been there 2 weks ago but where did TS find the MS$10 table? When i went there, it was minimum MS$25 for ante. My first trip there I manage to get myself the silvercard and get into the IR room. The ante was MS$50

there is rm10 antes, but still not a game worth playing. When you win, you still don't win your ante, unless you win with 5 cards, eg. straight, full house, flush or higher.

House gets 2 cards after the river. Usually it's the river card which almost always get him a pair.

If you'd go genting for the fun of it, try french boule, I think that game is more fun and more based on luck. nlhe vs house is just a game siding towards the dealer

erm

i think your familiarity with poker odds together with your ignorance against all other casino game odds have blinded you to the fact that ALL the games offered by the house sides towards the dealer

In Jan 2009, i was there and they now hv comp NL Texas H'em but played live 8 or 9 players at the table. Usually one table in play. You don't get physical cards tho. Your two cards are known to u on a comp screen. On avg, table money per player M$2000 to M$3500. Mostly local players. Think in time, Genting will launch real games. :)

Was there this week. The 2 Pokerpro tables have been moved to the International Room. You need to apply for a Genting WorldCard to enter the room (application right outside the entrance, its free). The tables are near the entrance on the right. You need to apply for and deposit funds into a PokerPro card (they take cash/chips) to play.
I was there on a thursday, there were no players until about 1pm. The guy there said by 4 usually players turn up. Just leave your number with them or use the electronic waiting list and they'll call when players show. I had to leave at 7pm, I'm pretty certain the action heats up later at night and over the weekends.
Blinds are MYR5/10. the "recommended" buyin is MYR300 but you can buy in for much more if you want. Can't remember the limit, but sure you can buy 100bb.
Playing on the electronic table is weird at first, but you get used to it. If you have problems with the touchscreen, people use their pokerpro cards as a stylus, works fine. On the upside, because its electronic hands are dealt much faster, and there's no need to tip dealers. I prefer real cards and chips and I don't mind tipping dealers, but that's me.
Play there is pretty fishy. We were 6 handed when I left. It is loose passive galore!!
2 players seemed to have a pretty good idea how to play, one was vaguely TAG (he had sunglasses on, ahem. So MUST be serious player hur hur). One guy bluffed all the time (naturally when I had a hand and called him down he had the nuts.) Lost most of my stack on that hand early but rebuilt and left with just a couple of hundred profit. One guy supertight, but fails to capitalise, will just call your raise with the nuts.
But the super bonus is this fish who reloaded three times, who could not even lay down middle pair or a gutshot draw. Everyone wanted to be in a pot with him.
Matter of time before it gets really popular, worth a look if you're there. definitely +ev.
