Last point - there were Kaki patches going around for one of the Genting tournies recently; are there still any around? I'd love to wear one during Red Dragon.

Paul,

You can look for me, I still have some Pokerkaki's patches left with me. I'll be at Lisboa most of the time.

Considering that Ricky missed at least 2 weeks of Emperor Series, coming in 3rd and i think he has the highest overall ITM cash in the series is a great achievement!!

btw Fred, i have a feedback. moving forward, can we have the red dragon events being held in the mid month (ie 2nd or 3rd week), rather than start of the month or end of the month. This is because many of us are working in the finance/ banking/ sales industries, busy with the monthend financial close or sales close. I think this will surely improve participation in the long run. what do you think?

It's actually interesting that most of the PokerStars Macau special events fall on the beginning of each month. It's not intentional, it just worked out that way for one reason or another. It's really a constant balancing act of avoiding holidays, local events, competing tournaments, etc. The schedule just coincidentally came out the way it did.

Oh bobby...I was railing you on final table of the Red Dragon Stage 3 satellite. Thought you had it locked after the KK hand and then pot right afterwards.

Will you still be coming to Macau?

3 Sats 3 FT - 6th, 6th & 7th. No package and down PS$645. No luck.

Confirmed. I purposely fly over to shake your hand since you railed me a few times.
ETA on Thursday for event 2, only disapointment is no Grand Lisboa stay for me this time round.

Well you can save about 15% off by booking a GL room via PokerStars. Just email request to macau@pokerstars.com

Maybe you see how the Charity Event goes and if you make some cash then you treat yourself to GL Hotel!

Good luck and I'll see you soon!

MPC Has Successful Opening Despite Typhoon Warning

Postby DM101 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:52 pm

MACAU, CHINA, September 3 2010 – PokerStars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa had a successful opening to the September edition of the Macau Poker Cup (MPC) which runs from September 1-5. The MPC kicked off with 167 players in the $2,000 KO Bounty event which set a record for that tournament. This was particularly impressive considering the T1 typhoon warning delayed travel plans for many players and cancelled flights from Korea. Ironically, it was Korean Jinduk Kim that won the opening preliminary event.

Team PokerStars Pros from Asia are looking good in the side events as Bryan Huang from Singapore placed 7th in the Charity Event which now has him trailing fellow Team Pro, Raymond Wu from Taipei, by only 128 points on the Asia Player of the Year Leaderboard. Huang has been the hottest player in Asia with a win in the PokerStars Macau Emperor Series, runner-up finish in July’s Red Dragon event, and final tables in ANZPT Queenstown and the recent Manila event.

Team Pro Tae Joon Noh from Korea leads the remaining 19-player field heading into the $3,000 NLH - Day 2 final and is joined by China’s Celina Lin.

It appears as though weather won’t affect Asia’s premiere poker series as the PokerStars Macau poker room is buzzing with players. Friday’s Deepstack event set its own record with 186 players and all signs point towards another big Red Dragon main event which begins Day 1A at 8:10 PM later in the evening.

Players can still qualify to the Red Dragon $2,000,000 Guarantee event at PokerStars Macau.

Live reporting of the Red Dragon event is available at Poker News Asia.

Hi Fred, i din manage to say a proper hello to you.
i was the one who requested you to come over at my table during the main event when a player showed his hole cards to the guy on his left, before folding and left guy yet to act pre-flop.
quite a funny incident as we explained to him rather nicely but he later became very abulsive at the table after u issued a warning to him.

quite an eventful trip as i reached the final table for the hkd5k buy-in alongside wooka kim, celina lim, ricky foo. but not so good as i was the 1st to bust out with my 13BBs shove called by pocket queens!, i managed to hit the board with trips top kicker but lost out to the nut house. the shortest stack japanese went on to win the tourney.
