Was it a good call? My call was based on my read that he will not shoved if he had hit the board, looked like a semibluff to me. Should I be making these calls often?

well i will say good call, bad beat?

recently i set set ace on flop with no flush draw, this guy hit set 3 on flop

which i pretty much noe he got set and i was thinking ho sei liao push all in and he called and river came a 3.

other bad beat i had was i read this guy had 2 pic card and i called with 2 low card 47 off-suit late position

flop came 3 4 7 and he on the early position push all in and i called happily, he open up JK off-suit

turn came a J and river a 3.

Why 2 pic cards? Cannot be a pocket pair?

Back to the hand I posted, he had one overcard and a flush draw, whereas I have a pair, with the turn and river still to come. So he has 9+3 = 12 outs. That's like 48% right?

So even though I was ahead, I kinds think it was a bad call.

This is why its very hard to play with hands like 94o. While you it was okay then as you were probably attempting a steal from button position, hands like these can get you into trouble.

Pot was only ~400 big and the other fella overbetted the pot by >2 times. At this point the only thing you can beat is a bluff as if he had a pair 9 his kicker would likely be better than yours. And if he was on a semi-bluff like he was, pair of nines is a very weak holding to survive all the way to river.

Still, calling then wasnt exactly a bad play~ just that these type of situations always need a lot of thought, which is why poker is a lot of fun =)

How about mine? Should I just shove all in due to the flush draw? This is low limit and I believe higher limit hardly will have such player? Please advice.

These players are going to call with flush draws or Kx anyway, so might as well get it in while you are ahead.
