MV Leisure World feedback

Postby Brasstal » Mon Sep 20, 2010 2:37 pm

Hey guys! Congrats to all who did well there and a special shout to Minsoon for final tabling the main and winning the rebuy!

Just curious but I thought it benefits all of us to voice our views here for the organizers.

I thought having special cabin rates for main event players (when the buy in increases of course) or other special events/activities might attract players to stay the night(s) and thus allow organizers to create more cash games/sngs/events and activities.

Hopefully this creates a more "kaki" feel and that is, what I would like to see. Of course just my own views but I think the organizers + Leisureworld have got a good thing going.

Lets show some love to them and hopefully the event grows and we all get a great venue/monthly event thing going for us to play good structured events/games.

Thank you guys, had a great weekend. Everything was very well organized!! Met a lot of nice people and the game was very friendly. Keep going!!

Maybe Leisure World can open a daily cashtable, I think it will atract a lot of new players as long as the casino's in SG can't offer it. The dealers will be more experienced on tournamentsdays as they dealing more often. (no offend of course!)

I'll be back

it was my first time in a tournament and my first time in a poker room, i have to say the venue was really nice. i had a smashing time despite being knocked out early in the tournament as i enjoyed the cash games and pretty much played till the last hand on the first night. met a handful of interesting folks too.. had some interesting conversations.

however, it was apparent that many of the dealers were inexperienced and there is some room for improvement. some home game dealers here do a heck of a job; eg. they are fast on the deal, they manage the pot effectively and efficiently, they provide a quick pot count. needless to say, i am sure that the organizers would like to have the dealers achieve similar standards as more hands played in lesser time = more rake. from a player's perspective, i'm sure we would like to be able see more hands in less time. nonetheless, i think most players were quite understanding as they knew that hold'em is still a relatively new game in the casinos around here.

also, the raking system could use some improvements as well. the cap for rake should probably be different for different stakes. the limit for the 1/2 cash game was $40, with a rake of 5% that would = $800 pot, as pointed out by a table-mate. A 800 dollar pot in a 1/2 game is seriously unlikely. the organizers might also wanna consider adding a minimum limit to raking to exempt pots below a certain amount from rake. there were a handful of times where i took the pot down at the flop with 2 dollar limps with the pot just being 6-8 dollars and the rake was still in effect. as a result, the dealer rakes 1 dollar off the pot which is well above 5%. i would suggest a minimum pot limit of at least 15-20 dollars? it would be friendlier to the players at the table.

i also noticed that in a multi pot hand, the bigger pot absorbs the rake. many players at the table thought it was an unjust rule as both pots should have been raked seperately.

thats just my 2cents worth. i hope they are constructive. dont mean to step on anyone's toes

last but not least.... huge congrats to minsoon for doing so well. [As] [Ah] (i was the dude sitting at your corner at the cash game table with the $100 preflop raise uncle).

huge props to the organizers for the event, it was certainly an exciting event for a poker player like myself. eagerly look forward to the next event!

hmmm.. one last important feedback. the decks of cards used in the cash games had very poor colour contrast between the black suits and the red suits. the red suits were all really dark... like maroon-ish

For a first time, I thought it was well-organised. I didn't have a chance to play the cash games so I can't comment, but I thought the organisers' efforts to get SnGs going can be applauded; it kept the people who busted out early (like moi D:) interested in staying around for more poker action. Of course, the dealers can improve, and maybe the quality of the table and chips? It was a bit odd that the 1000 chip was slightly larger than the rest, and the 100 chips were sticky. Overall though, great effort from the pokerkaki team! Looking forward to next month's trip!

Dealers - they can only get better and not worse

Tables - 9 handed tables please but these ones arent too shabby and sat 8 comfortably, well done for not squeezing 9 in.
- More tables please =)

Chips - bad colors and they were sticky (quite gross). No 500 chips too?

Will post more when it comes to mind.

Kudos to the organizers for the event! Was there on Sunday specially to take a peek and it's great to see all the top players there. With all the shoving and thrash talking, it was an great experience even if i'm just a spectator. :D.

Hope to see more tourney soon!
