i basically called him down because his shove did look like a miss flush draw move. Especially when he check the turn shove the river.

On the flop, he lead out because if he is on a flush draw, he can extract more money into it by leading out 1st.

On the turn, when i called and the J came, he checked. I reckon that checking is good cuz my 77 might have showdown value.

However on the river, the A drop and he instant shove. That move is weird but the hands i am putting him on is either an 8, which hit top pair on flop, or he totally missed. The 2 high cards that come later does not help him in either way. In order to take down the pot with a bluff perhaps is to shove the river. so i called.

More reads on villain would be good, why call the flop with 1 player behind yet to act?
