Did he make a good play? Or was he just donking?

Brag about the good, vent over the bad.

Did he make a good play? Or was he just donking?

Alright, i was at a live game last night and blinds were at $1/$2. I had a stack of around $130
I was dealt [Kc] [Ks]
I was just 1 position away from the dealer. Everyone limped and i raised to $12 and everyone folded except the guy before me. He just called. Table was very loose and many people were playing suited connectors and so on to break big hands.
FLOP came [3c] [7h] [Th]
Villian checks to me i bet out $60 into a $40-$50ish pot
He calls
TURN was a [5c]
My alarm bells went ringing. He thought for awhile and checked. I thought for really long and decided to go all-in for another $50+ more into a $200+ pot putting him on a draw.
Well, that guy thought for awhile and called my $50+ into a $250+ pot and showed [2d] [4d] giving him an open-ended straight.
RAN it twice he hit a 6 the first time and an ace the second.

Is this PURELY a bad beat, bad play by me on not pushing in on the flop, him making the call due to pot odds, him donking around or what?

I bet only $60 on the flop because i know he was not strong yet. He usually bets when he has flush/straight draws. It was more of a value bet because i know he was so loose $60 he will call with nothing. But not call an all-in with nothing.

Someone please enlighten me cause i told him i really had him beat at the moment and really didnt want him to draw me out. So did he make a right play? Or was he just donking around?

Your flop bet basically commits your entire stack to the hand. Can't see anyone playing any different line you took.

Plan your betsizing next time. it is fine as played, cant be results oriented.
