AJ? nah must be 9Js and went for the conservative check on the flop since he is IP and avoiding x/r. I will bet here 100% to balance my air CB if were the hero. villain flatting the turn makes me believe he made the nuts since there is no flush and very unlikely he put you on QQ, if so he would have raise you. villain is drooling after seeing the K on the river becoz no way our hero will play AJ like this (specially OOP pre).
regardless, I'll call. unless i really know the villain that well.
Well i guess Luke really spoiler there but I got a few questions :
1.) Do you ever re-raise the river for value? Will he call with worse? 2.) Is flatting a for sure? Is there anyway to fold here? 3.) Will you change the river sizing to possibly pot it? To let him call with 2 pairs & even possible J9 etc and only raise with the nuts?
1) no, cant see any worse hand calling if u ship 2) no, i think folding river is the best play here without any real info on villain. you're only hoping villain has KQ (3 combos) and 67s (4 combos). he will never have a set for obvious reasons. with the raise sizing its sort of a FML fold. 3) i think by potting it you'll miss value from hands that may call a normal bet size

My humble opinion: 1.Pretty polarised at the river. Cant re-raise, hands that KKK beat would have just called the river bet. ( 2 pair hands). If villian bluffing with a raise there, wont call ur 3 bet shove anyway.
2.flat and fold - tough spot. Im more inclined folding. i think hero only going to beat badly played KQ & KT and bluffs there. Majority of hands KK beat (KQ,KT) would have shown strength earlier streets.
3. Hands that could call hero's pot bet may be inclined to bet if hero has checked. I know this sounds silly - missing value, but it is still early stage. No, wont pot size bet. If villian pot size bet, i can flat there, also make it easier to bluff catch.

Personally I think I still call on the river 100% of the time especially against an unknown. I fold river more often to known players. IMHO unknowns overvalue their made hands on the river eg, his KQ's KT's. If the river sizing was smaller I would be inclined to even include KJ, AK in his range for raising there. But with this sizing, as some of you ahve mentioned, the hands I only beat are probably 67, KQ and I think KT.
I also think there is a fair amount of bluff in his range here with the size of his raise.
As an unkown there is also a small possibility of a very retardedly played QQ and less likely TT, 88 here. Especially when playing against a team pro.
Appreciate your views! Hope to get interesting hands from the rest of you!
