Good attempt for Phase 2

Postby DM101 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 12:48 am

I have been watching you play.
Very good attempt.
When down to final 3, your all in with 9 7 on the flop was a major mistake man.
Player bet out 10K which was almost pot size already indicated strength right?
I just dun understand why do you push all in tho.
Can you please explain that?

I was the chip leader like 80% of the time, I screwed the whole game up when we were 3 handed. My aggression rewarded me early and caused my doom when I over played this hand.

AH... its so sad man... busting out 3rd place, just 2 more steps to win the 6k package... I'm really so sad....

Probably should had raise the flop 2.5 to 3x , which I could still fold to his shove.
But the reason I shoved was because if he flat calls and any overcards or suited cards hit the turn it would be extremely difficult to play.

Shoving here is my high risk default play.
I'm also very tired dragging the tourney to over midnight, as my usual sleep time is 10pm. My plan was just to keep stealing and at times make some big all-in moves as they seem tight/weak. I also wanted to quickly take a significant lead before heads up , hopefully 2:1 as heads up is most heavy in luck factor.

Oh well.. time to sleep, lets hope for no nightmares...

6K APPT Macau Package.... so close...

Maybe I read too much gus hansen books which leads me to play this ways.
Funny that I was really very loose and very aggro in this tournament.

Over 330+ hands at over 40+% vpip , LOL

Hi Felix,

I was watching you play too...here's what I thought (if it matters at all...haa)

6/5 handed ur play seemed relli solid...relli tight aggr...and pple relli couldnt tell whether u had a hand or not.....but...when it got down to 3 hands....u were raising every hand!....and after a while can tell the other 2 caught on to it....and also...the blinds were not that huge to be that aggr la i think...maybe nxt level?...yehhh...coz stacks still relatively big compared to the blidns for online tourney....

I thouht u were thinking..."ok this a freeroll..2nd place no prize....wanna win make sure i win 1st..and they way to do this is super aggr"

and also...the other 2 didnt seem to be bluffing much if not at all...so i dont know la...but its different when im nto playing la...in no position to say....

well guess when u played as aggr as u did...its all or nothing already la....haaa...but still its quite something for u to make it as far as u did...gd job....there's more satellites to come man...

Yeah you are right, final table I really put in a lot of raising preflop and postflop moves without much hands cause only 1st place wins. From the start my plan was either to have a dominating stack to punish them or just bust out.

Well, 3 handed I played super poorly and underestimated my opponents liao. Both of them seem very tight/weak to me, so i when on a hyper raising mode which I was open raising almost every pot wanting to regain my chip lead. After the last break, they somehow started to be playing back a little, unfortunately this does not stop me from trying to run them over haha but I was tired and inattentive when my opponent showed strength and yet I opted for the big move to push him off, villain really did well trapping me in that big pot with his Aces, hanging me with my own aggression.

I love high risk high rewards hahaha
